Ben. I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I wouldn't write off odesk as a joke. If you get connected with a good partner, you can get guaranteed payments on hourly rates and have the money directly deposited into your banking account. Obviously; don't bid on jobs that pay $2 an hour. You have to wonder what kind of boss only pays $2 an hour :-) Finding the right work and salary can be challenging, but it's worth it to get supplementary income in times like this.
