Just like with any website, make sure you have inbound links so the
search engines can fine you. Also make sure your site is setup to be
indexed - ie it has search engine friendly urls (avoid the use of
javascript for instance)

Creating and submitting a sitemap shouldnt hurt either

Creating a CSE
http://www.google.com/coop/cse/
should also help you get a handle on how well your site is indexed.
And adding your sitemap to the CSE should generally help with
indexing.
