all the java standards will evolve in the same directio, everyone will want to be compatible with the "official release" eventually some projects will start using the feeatures of such new plattform (it can be syntax, functions, anything really), later, as everyone uses these new and improved, shiny new features, java will become slowly more and more oracle-ized.
the end results seems clear, and seems to be simply that everything java gets owned by oracle except a small fork which is maintained by zealots (or perhasp the same people WE called zealots, when working on CGJ, or stuff like that, since "there was no need for OS java and its not 100% compatible with mainstream java anyway) slowly, all your base are belong to oracle.
