It's a restriction on the valid host names<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname#Restrictions_on_valid_host_names>allowed, which is also applied on domain names. It's probably a bug in the system to allow such names. Perhaps you can contact them to change the name, and at the same time file a bug.
