Thanks for the suggestions. Different subdomains are treated like different websites in SEO. So if we get a lot of links to http://blog.abc.com then it helps out our blog but not directly our site SEO (it helps indirectly b/c the blog links to the site). I believe the 302 redirect idea will give the SEO karma to the http://blog.abc.com subdomain.
