Hi all, Currently mail.send() timeout is set to 5 seconds.
Before last API upgrade my application has never experienced these timeouts. Now this is something happening on a regular basis. I am sending a batch of 30 e-mails and very often the whole request times out and quits with an exception because one of the e-mails takes more than 5 seconds to send. Mail API displays 'normal' status always when it happens. I believe 5 seconds is a very large latency to accept an e-mail. It is not 'normal' and Google must investigate this and reflect slow mail sending and the overloads they have in the system status.
