Given that this question comes up again and again, I think it would be highly desirable for Google to improve the datastore statistics page to
(a) show the total size consumed by the indexes (b) show the size consumed by each index I would hope that (a) would be calculated as the sum of (b) rather than the difference between the total datastore usage and the amount of real data in the datastore.
