Why not? That's what everybody else does. If your issue is that you don't have the expertise to set up an SVN repository try using one of the online ones such a Google Code (although do check the Terms that your project qualifies for free hosting). Another alternative is to use a distributed SCCS such as git or mercurial. We use mercurial as it has good Eclipse integration.
