gw, I saw the same 404 errors for everything that you did. You are
definitely right about not messing with it.

I was planning to use the deploy feature to turn my app back on after
maintainence, but I guess this is a dangerous idea. Better to catch
the exceptions, or change between already-deployed versions. For the
future I think I will keep a backup version deployed in the event that
the active one gets hosed like this.
