You are quite right, whist the system status screen did seem to work most of the time, it was very sporadic and not very stable!
Did anyone else also notice that all the discussion group archives were also not available during the initial stages of the outage? I have put a manual system in place on my site, but im unsure how to inform MY users if it happens again, esp if Im busy or not constantly checking the status myself!
