hi Robert its definitely not the cold start issue, the delay occured datastore_v3.RunQuery call, well after the request handler was started. These queries occured in different handlers but within seconds of each other. I had not seen this large a difference in query time before on GAE Stats Fast - http://bit.ly/cjFjsM Stats Slow - http://bit.ly/9H8FPJ
that being said, I'm not seeing them anymore so perhaps its related to the GAE runstop today.
