"Experimental" features refers to features that we've explicitly marked as such. An example is Blobstore API:
http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/blobstore/ Note that we call out experimental status with a blue box. Off the top of my head, this includes Blobstore, Task Queues and the bulk loader tool.
