Hi I am new to Google App Engine. I know it is impossible for one to expect the App Engine to support all languages like C, C++, PHP, Perl etc etc.
I would like to know why currently only Perl and Java is supported ? By only supporting Python and Java it is implicitly trying to ask developers to learn the above 2 languages exclusively. I have no arguments against Java but choosing Python over others make me wonder. Perl is quite established in it's own right so why didn't it make it into the list ? Python whitespace is getting on my nerves. I admit I am biased to Python due to my Perl leanings but shouldn't such an excellent language like Perl be considered to be on par with Python ? I don't want to start a flame war. I am just curious on the choice made to use Python instead. Thanks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
