The sms auth method is in need of change. I've been in the same situation. I tried contacting google about it, but at of this moment about 3-4 weeks later, still no response.
My solution to the problem is to borrow a friend/co-workers number (I used a co-worker at Sales, he won't to any programming anyway :)).
