Nate, Yes I have tried that also. It seems that it needs a "id" value given by the application in order to store it. I don't have a value. I want the data store to create the value for me. I know that the data store is not a relational data store, but in the relational world as in oracle this would be generated automatically by the database. I have read that it is possible to do this with JDO, but all the examples from the app engine documentation seem to be providing a value for the data store.
