Acknowledged. Further research has given me another tool to use to send and receive SMS online. I have yet to verify its functionality, but it is simple enough to use and you do not need a cell phone or mobile phone. It is called Google Voice. My problem in testing it is that I do not know many people with cell phones that bother to use the texting feature.
