I understand the cause of this error. Like I said, I have a bunch of large entities to push into the datastore, and I want to do it as efficiently as possible.
But it seems there is no efficient way to find out how big an entity is going to be when crossing the API transom, so there is no way to do these puts optimally. For now, I've added a .size() method to my model, which generates an over-estimate using some heuristics.
