I have read the docs and experimented with the channel api on both desktop(1) and mobile devices(2). It is not clear to me if the channel api is intended to be used on mobile devices. It appears like the channel api javascript is polling when I look at the network activity indicator on a mobile device.
Google, do you recommend the channel api for use on mobile devices? If so, how does it work and how will it affect battery life on the device?
