My transactions with errors is really small: - get entity - put new integer value - run task in transaction
may be the problem is task running within transaction (http://code.google.com/status/appengine/detail/taskqueue/2011/02/21#ae-trust-detail-taskqueue-add-latency). btw. I'm not modifying one entity group very often. How many transactions do you have a day?
