The worst thing is, the "except" statements of our app rarely get executed during the occasions, therefore we don't get a chance to recover. I guess we are just a very ordinary site, about 3QPS on average. If I knew this kind of 'down time' rate on GAE before hand, I would definitely reconsider adopting the platform.
