tldr: How do I get a domain I purchased elsewhere to work for my app? I've searched the documentation, and these threads, but can't seem to figure this dang thing out.
I have a domain registered with godaddy, I'd like my app to be reachable at that address. I've signed up for google apps as well. I added a CNAME record on godaddy to ghs.google.com for 'www' as instructed. When I visit www.mydomain.com I get a google page saying Not Found. I checked, the cname record is there. Also, separately, I tried setting an A record for the IP addresses I found in some of the documentation, but that didn't work either. Maybe I should have switched both the cname and the a record? When I go to the 'Add Domain' section of the GAE dashboard and click add, I'm always redirected to the settings page of Apps, which has mysubdomain.appspot.com and test.mydomain.com, but won't allow me to add nothing, or 'www', which is what I'd like. Also, when I go back to the Add Domain section of GAE, my domain is never there. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that I ended up with an additional account [email protected] when I signed up for Apps, though I feel like I followed the instructions pretty closely. Anyone?
