Like I said above. Try setting user-agent to gzip as well. That option is:

-A/--user-agent <agent string>

I see in your output that your user-agent is
  curl/7.19.7 (universal-apple-darwin10.0) libcurl/7.19.7 OpenSSL/0.9.8l
zlib/1.2.3

Again, I'm using a specialized client app so this might not be of use to
you.
