Hello Noah, Thanks for your response. It makes sense, as far as the images are concerned.
But why do the .js files not get compressed consistently? I noticed that sometimes the same file, in the same browser, is downloaded in the compressed format and at other times it doesn't. For example the ISC_Grids.js wasn't zipped in the case I mentioned above, but a few minutes later when I retried, the same file downloaded in the compressed format. Is there an explanation for that?
