I'd also like to map a custom domain to a specific version of an app. However, I'm not sure it will help much with the new pricing, each version will have its own instances. Sure you'll save the $9 / app minimum, but you might wind up paying for a instance to serve each of the other versions. Instances aren't that cheap at around $56 / month.
