Perfect question, python2.7-multithreading mantra sounds like "all will be ok, belive us, guys!" trick i also see 10x price increase, 90% of which is for plain cpu usage... i just starting to learn node.js+redis to move on rackspace. GAE is really good project, but not that much... may be in year or two competition will force google to lower prices to more reasonable levels
