Please explain what's happening with my billing calculation. issue 1: I had 27000 entities of a certain kind in the datastore, Datastore stats said 135 MB used. OK. Dashboard reported 500MB used (MAX HR free teir )... not so good. but maybe it doesn't count the index see Issue 2740 in googleappengin. OK so there's one bug. understood.
Now I delete all entities. Dashboard reports 500MB used.Stats report 0MB. So if I was paying do I get billed @ 500MB or 0. Yes it makes a difference when this goes live and it's either 500GB or 0GB. issue 2: Add 200 entities of a kind. It's not a lot by "Google scale" standards - ok - it will be < 30seconds real time. on 7/9/2011 this takes 21263ms 8618883cpu_ms 8614450api_cpu_ms Did I just read that right? 8.6Million ms API time? 8641 seconds API time? 143 MINUTES! for only 200 entities?! 2.3 HOURS - I could write it down in a book FASTER THAN THAT - Including the index. You, Google, are saying that if this operation were done sequentially it would take over 2 hours? That's just not believable. 8618883ms @ 2.4 GHZ that's 2.07 *10^13 ( 20,700,000,000,000) cycles... for persisting 200 entities? WTF! not plausible. Your billing calculation is broken and wrong just admit it. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group.
