Thanks for throwing a little more light on the situation. I use Appengine for a line of profitable apps that I currently pay cents a month for. I'm glad you're getting serious about the price because the alternative would inevitably have been closing the service the next time one of your accountants looked at the books.
I think many people don't need Appengine's redundancy/scalability and will migrate to a cheaper VPS solution - that's fine, Appengine is the wrong tool for them. Many others who do need redundancy/scalability will look at alternatives, and quickly realise Appengine is still remarkably good value. > And if you come to Thirsty Bear in San Francisco tonight, I’ll buy you a beer.
