Are there any future plans to develop (or support) a Java-based rules engine on GAE? I am familiar with a project called red-piranha and it is a potential fit, but looks like it requires you to embed a Java applet in order to do compilation of rules client-side. I'd really prefer to avoid that. I would like all of the client-side functionality to be able to be developed using GWT. I need to support a runtime editor of rules, so can't expect that rules will be pre- compiled.
