We have an application (what-matters, www.whatmattersnow.org) built on the Java version of App Engine. It's using high replication. Yesterday we started noticing occasional very, very slow page loads. Requests that typically return in under 200 ms are taking more than 15 seconds to return. The problem is intermittent and not consistently reproducible. Is something happening on app engine that could cause this? Thanks!
