I'm building a startup, and I'm considering GAE as the platform, however I've been having a hard time finding information on why a startup might consider GAE instead of the many cloud providers out there. Let me explain what I'm working on.
GAE is really hard to beat for most startups. I think the only reason I'd avoid it is if I had special needs which it doesn't support yet, like SSD storage, low-latency communication to virtual machines, or geographic distribution of application servers. And if I felt like I needed one of those I'd try hard to reconsider because GAE is such a pleasure to use and saves a lot of effort and time.
