The WP for Appengine is poorly optimized. I run several WP installs with 
Appengine as a Page Level Cache/Proxy in front of them, to make them scale very 
affordably, but that is for sites doing millions of visitors a month not 100s a 
day.

Scalability-wise and cost-wise can you make a basic analysis?

If I had to guess I would say costs would be higher than regular hosting (cheap 
server manual hosting), and is Cloud SQL scalable?
