I wasn't bothered by the G+ inspired changes to most Google services, but Google Groups is different. The new Google Groups was clearly designed by someone who likes their XHR and CSS a bit too much. The old Groups is plain and fast and works very well. Why change it? I've repeatedly reverted to the old format, but Google will probably take this option away, like it did with Google Mail.
