I have recently switched from master/slave to high replication and noticed that my backup routine stopped working. Other posts seem to hint that "appcfg.py download_data" does not work with the high replication datastore. WTF!
This command fails with "cannot access app": appcfg.py download_data --application=myappname-hrd --url=http://myappsdomain.com/_ah/remote_api --filename=backup.sql3 How can I download the db data?
