You will probably find that GAE will be able to scale very well to mitigate any load you throw at your app. You are more likely to be restricted by the costs that you will incur when your app is configured to have no upper bound on dynamic instances.
But if you have unlimited money, go for it!! I recommend Neustar WPM Load Testing to generate the load.
