I have built a number of apps over the years, and unlike big social sites etc... they just never get much traffic over night. It would make sense for applications with this sort of traffic to be able to drop the number of idle instances down during quiet periods and ramp them back up for the busy times. (Oh python , but of course any scheduling would affect everybody ;-)
