I recently installed the SDK version 1.8 (was using 1.7.7), and my local datastore in the dev_appserver has been reset to empty. Is this expected? Is the old data lying around somewhere that I could restore it? It's not a big deal (I would have been backing up the data if it was important), but it would be handy to be able to access it.
Also it would be nice if the installer would give a warning that it's about to delete data. I don't even see it in the release notes (which I didn't read before installing), but a warning during the install seems like the best thing to do. This happened once before, I think around version 1.7.6 when the new dev_appserver appeared. In fact I can get at my pre-1.7.6 data by running old_dev_appserver.py, but I don't see a way to access my 1.7.7 data.
