Normal migration will not work - the "import wordpress" plugin is broken and migrating a database is not as easy - especially since you have to adapt all the tutorials to fit exactly the database setup of the current wordpress database.
To make it short - it's not ready yet - it's early beta and I would suggest you rather opt for a managed wordpress install for your friend.
