S.O. is a great source for clear solutions - mostly from google hits However as you mentioned they seriously have some issues, definitely not a great place for support, I also hate asking a question and explaining the reasons to a bunch of religious programmers (religious as in illogically fanatical about ideals of something) Mostly a good place for 2+2=? type of questions
