Our situation was that we had a working GAE admin account: 
[email protected]. This was great, and we could send email from this 
address, from GAE, without issue.

Then yesterday, we wanted to also use the smtp server for this account, to 
send from another server. To do that, we needed to add gmail capability to 
the account, which we did. Google also asked for a gmail address 
([email protected]) to use with the account, making the original 
address an alternate address. I then made [email protected] the default 
from address and moved on. This worked perfectly for smtp relay purposes.

Now the problem - our GAE suddenly stopped sending mail. In addition, the 
account listed in permissions changed from [email protected] to 
[email protected]. I invited [email protected] again, which all 
went fine, except that in the end, Google thinks it is 
[email protected].

Is there any way to use [email protected] to send mail from GAE again?

We are currently working on setting up remote SMTP from within our GAE 
instance, but it would be nice if there was a better way.
