I'm creating an app that requires a secure, scalable sandbox environment.
The app itself is a Rails app, hosted on Heroku.

What I need to do is to pass a string from my Rails app to the GAE module
(possibly in JSON format?) and have it run some tests on the string, before
returning a boolean, or some result string. So not a full app, no front
end, it just needs to run some tests and return a result.

What would be the simplest way to do this? Is there a go-to framework for
small GAE-java apps with no front end, that just run some calculations on
an input and provide an output?

My guess is that using Gaelyk + GSON would be the way to go, but I have
some external java jars that I would need in the module - can Groovy/Gaelyk
integrate java jars?
