A lot depends on the particulars of your blog - for instance, do you have
comments, how many comments are there, are your visitors spread out during
the day or are there spikes of activity, etc. Starting out, the simplest
way to pick a GCE instance is to check how much RAM your current 1and1
instance has, then pick an instance type from
https://cloud.google.com/compute/pricing#machinetype with a similar amount.

If the "P" in your LAMP stack stands for PHP, you can also try hosting your
blog on App Engine.
