So I just got a reply from the original poster (JH) as a private message, I
will post it here and remove the project name :
I have tried it several times. Sometimes I have waited weeks. It's
weird like something is up with this particular app. The date for deletion
always comes and goes. Now I can't even access this app from
within the new developer console.
If you could go to
https://appengine.google.com/disabling?&app_id=[YOUR-APP-ID]
and show us a printscreen of that page, ideally with the "project will be
deleted by [DATE]", it would be helpful into checking what is happening
here.
In any case, why exactly do you want the project to be deleted?
