Hi Suryaveer, While Managed VMs do allow you to specify forwarded ports <https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/managed-vms/config>, the port forwarding currently does not work through the 'appspot.com' domain. The workaround for this is to connect to the instance IP directly. For more details see the relevant post on StackOverflow <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30560365/websocket-port-on-google-managed-vm> and the feature request on the issue tracker <https://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=11570>[3].
