The steps taken that you've described above are thorough; although it's not clear whether you're actually adding the custom domain by pressing 'add' after step 2. What do you see when you visit the custom domains page <https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/appengine/settings/domains> for your project? Also, what happens when you try to access the domain?
