Hi Daniel, AppEngine Standard has api's so that Sign In is easy from your host language. for Python <https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/python/users/loginurls> and Java <https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/java/users/>.
Google Sign In <https://developers.google.com/identity/sign-in/web/> can be used with App Engine Flex, Compute Engine and Container engine.
