Hi everyone, PM on App Engine here. We hear your pain. Email is an important part of any cloud-based application and we definitely understand that a 1st-party service is preferred for this. We're in the process of assessing what we're going to do about this. I don't have anything specific to announce right now, but I can say that we're actively working on finding the best solution, and that deprecating a service without giving customers a pathway to a comparable alternative is not a tenable strategy.
