It looks like there were some DNS issues with curl reported yesterday <https://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=13390> which seem to have been resolved. I'll follow up on the report to get some more information.
Are you still experiencing issues and if so could you post details of what you're seeing?
