I have this same problem. Actually, I cannot get ANY page builder plugins to work on app engine wordpress. Other plugins work fine. Page builder plugins (visual composer, elementor, siteorigin, beaver builder... etc) either return a fatal class error or editing tools don't show up at page edits. I opened an issue on the google app engine wordpress github project but no one has answered yet. https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/appengine-php-wordpress-starter-project I really need help with this issue.
