Hello Paul, At the moment, there is no way to force cron to call to the HTTPS URL. There is already a feature request with similar contents in the Public Issue Tracker, called "cron.yaml - no option for https only <https://b.corp.google.com/issues/118957573>". It offers some insight in the context of your request. You can follow this feature request for developments and eventual implementation.
