I believe the following troubleshooting documentation <https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/troubleshooting#https>can help explain the issue you are seeing. Buckets are able to serve your content through HTTPS using direct URLs such as: https://storage.googleapis.com/my-bucket/my-object However, if you are hosting a static website then Cloud Storage will only support HTTP. Would you be able to confirm if you using a CNAME redirect? You can find more information about this here <https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/hosting-static-website#cname>.
